The village of Cheveley is located approx. 3 miles south of Newmarket town centre on the Cambs/Suffolk border. By Road— On your journey to 1eleven you will drive past some of the many horse breeding studs located in the Newmarket area. Leave Newmarket either from the clock tower roundabout (down Old Station Road), or (from the racecourse end of the High Street), by The Avenue (turning at the traffic lights). Stay on this road (which turns into the New Cheveley Road) until it becomes the Ashley Road (at the junction of Old Station Road/Cheveley Road). Continue south easterly along the Ashley Road for some 2.5 miles, rising gently and passing several studs, until you reach Cheveley village. On entering the village, at the crossroads, turn right into the High Street (signposted Kirtling and Saxon Street). Driving up through the village you will pass the Recreation Ground (on your right), soon after which the road bears left. Staying on this road, after a right turn (sign posted Stetchworth), is the village primary school (on your right). Approximately 150 metres further on, on the left, is 1eleven. Please pull in to our front car parking area. If you pass the Church, village Post Office Stores (on your left) or the Red Lion public house (on your right) you have gone too far! One other little hint—on leaving the Newmarket town outskirts, 1eleven is always ‘up hill’ (up slope more correctly). If at any time before you get here you start to go ‘down’ (even a little) you are going the wrong way! Coming from the West or South you can avoid the town centre by taking the local road off the main A1304 (race course entrance) roundabout. Cross the B1061 at a dog-legged crossroads and climb the rise towards Stetchworth. Some 400mtr past the B1061 turn left at the difficult to notice cross roads. Cross the Woodditton and the Saxon Street roads and enter Cheveley village. At the ‘T’ junction (by the school) turn right. We are approx. 150 mtrs up on your left. Walking—We are located 30 m off the ICKNIELD WAY route at Grid Ref. TL683611 |
